The reason behind AssetHub
Creative momentum lives in the small decisions
Something worth making.
A sound can seem wrong until its playback changes. A walk cycle can feel awkward until you try another frame rate. Those are small experiments, but they help a creator decide what deserves more work. We want those experiments to be easy to reach.
Different assets need different kinds of attention. Audio needs transport controls and a chance to listen. Sprites need room to see motion. Scenes need pan, zoom, and a way to isolate layers. Bringing these views into one project makes the collection easier to explore with purpose.
AssetHub is currently a Godot 4 prototype focused on 2D work. Its boundaries are deliberately concrete: supported formats, basic playback, and a scene preview that leaves editing to the Godot editor. We are building a useful inspection space around those foundations before making broader promises.
The things that matter.
Preview with purpose
Give each asset type controls that help answer a real creative question.
Keep files understandable
Make folder structure and available metadata part of the browsing experience.
Show the boundaries
Be clear about supported formats and the prototype's current limits.
